THEATRE
Our beautifully restored historic theater seats 422 people. Originally a circa-1919 movie theater, the Empire’s stunning auditorium features art deco-style murals. Regular attendees at the Empire will attest to the fact that there is “no bad seat in the house” here! Our versatile proscenium stage has been home to plays, orchestras, rock bands, ballets, and more. Our full-size movie screen also offers renters a unique opportunity.
GALLERY
Home to the world-class UND Art Collections, having a reception, meeting, or small event in the gallery space is sure to make you stand out. The gallery is also available for wedding receptions, office parties, and private pre-show receptions.
STUDIO E
The Empire's black box theater, known as Studio E, is a versatile space that is only limited by your own imagination! Studio E can be set up for small performances with seating in any configuration, including in the round. This space is also ideal for rehearsals, meetings, and private parties.
BACKSTAGE
An exposed brick wall, industrial-style lighting, and the graffiti-covered concrete floor lend an urban feel to this small space. Home to the Empire's famous "Backstage Project" concerts, this space can also be rented for your own small performances, presentations, or private parties.
