Why do so many people fear them? Why do we associate them with vampires? And what does it mean to have "bats in the belfry"!?
We separate fact from fiction in an informal conversation about bats. (Bring your young naturalists and a toilet paper roll to make a free craft after the talk!)
As a lead up to the musical "Stellaluna & Other Stories" at the Empire Arts Center, Laura Bell will present information on bats!
Laura serves as the lab coordinator and naturalist for the Natural Resource Program at the University of MN Crookston. Holding a degree in Wildlife Zoology Laura has a passion for exploring all things nature, the outdoors, and environmental education. On the UM-C campus, she assists faculty and students in the Natural Resource Program, is advisor for the Natural Resources Club, manages the Red River Valley Natural History Area, and curates the UMC Wildlife Museum.
Saturday Salons are free and open to all.
