IMAGINING THE INDIAN: THE FIGHT AGAINST NATIVE
AMERICAN MASCOTING

Explores the exploitation of Native American culture in sports, including the use of names and logos that have been adopted by teams and franchises with no apparent connection to the tribes and peoples whose cultures they appropriate.
A special Q&A with filmmakers Ben West and Yancey Burns, Moderated by Joe Williams, Director of Indigenous Programs at the Plains Art Museum, will take place following the film.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m., and films begin at 6:30. The screening is free and open to the public.
